Hi ,
I intend to buy the Montage 8 but I need your advices about about the buying process . Is Montage 8 the most powerful in sounds ?
Is there any considerations should be taken in buying ? Are there important accessories ?
Should I wait for another model coming soon ?

I don't know what you're looking for. Each player has their own preferences, background, expectations, etc. If you can play a Montage pre-sale then I would recommend doing so to see if the preset sounds fit what you expect. There are lots of ways to shape the sound - but there's something to be said about a first impression before learning the ins-and-outs.

Is there any considerations should be taken in buying ?

Probably - but these tend to be personal also. Meaning everyone has their own sets of considerations.

Are there important accessories ?

Depends what's important to you. A sustain pedal may or may not be important. There's a sustain pedal with "half damper" capability and one that's only "on or off". If you were wanting more control from the sustain pedal - then the half damper capable pedal may be of interest. An expression pedal (or two) may be of use. If you're going to connect a computer - a USB cable (USB 2.0 type A to type B). If you're going to connect other MIDI gear using 5-pin "MIDI cables" - then a pair of those may be desirable. Maybe a keyboard stand. A sturdy one will give the keyboard a better feel. Or table/workstation furniture if used in the studio. I really don't know what you're starting with.

Montage comes with Cubase AI. You may want to get the Pro version of the DAW with full-featured. The AI version gets you pretty far as it is.

You may want a foot switch (non latching). The Yamaha one or one that can switch to the right polarity.

Maybe a piano bench/chair depending on how you play.

Perhaps a power strip with some form of protection built in.

A dust cover. A case.

Audio cables. Studio monitors.

There's other things - but those are some of the major things that could be part of your setup. Not sure what you have and how you plan on using the keyboard.

Should I wait for another model coming soon ?

I don't know - do you need a keyboard soon?

CME WIDI Master will allow you to get rid of cables and batteries for MIDI.

I am still waiting for a low lag stereo wireless audio transmitter/receiver.
If anyone knows of any maker, please let me know.

Welcome to YamahaSynth!

Each of the MONTAGEs are exactly the same, sound-wise. The difference between the 6, the 7 and the 8 is purely the keyboard (number of keys, and type of action). The MONTAGE 8 has a piano weighted 88 Key Balanced Hammer action, while the 6 and the 7 have Yamaha’s top-of-the-line FSX synth action... all feature Aftertouch. The 6 is 61 key, the 7 is 76 key.

The most important optional accessories are: a Yamaha FC3A Sustain pedal and at least one Yamaha FC7 Sweep pedal.
The FC3A Sustain pedal gives you piano-like half Dampering, and the FC7 is essential for moving the Super Knob, hands-free. By plugging the Yamaha FC7 pedal into the Foot Controller 2 jack on the MONTAGE back panel, you will be able to keep both hands on the keys while you manipulate multiple parameters assigned to the Super Knob by simply moving your foot.

Your experience playing the MONTAGE is greatly reduced without this access to the Super Knob... the difference when performing is remarkable. The “Super Knob” is a macro controller that lets you address multiple parameters, simultaneously, across multiple Parts and MIDI Channels; scores of parameters can be precisely changed with a single gesture.... morph an entire string orchestra down to a solo violin, viola and cello, all while both hands continue to perform; Whatever you do, get at least one Yamaha FC7 sweep type pedal.

A second FC7 pedal can be designated for Expression (performing volume) or assigned as you desire... in fact, both Foot Controllers can be programmed on a per program basis to do whatever you desire. But having one dedicated to the Super Knob is *highly recommended*.

Depending on where in the world you are located MONTAGEs maybe easy or difficult to find. It is best to contact an authorized Yamaha retailer in your area and have them notify you about availability. Given the pandemic, things can vary greatly based on your location.
