Not able to see ESP in Cubase

Hello, I followed Blake procedure to add ESP into Cubase.

I downloaded Cubase AI (all files), then ESP with the activation codes

I also installed the Steinberg driver for my MacBook Pro M1 Pro (14 inches)

When I opened Cubase AI the first time, the software asked me to view the licenses, it activated Cubase and I activated ESP

Each time I tried to add a track (instrument), I only see Halion, ESP is not there.

I did not connect my M8X to my laptop, I only wanted to see ESP within Cubase.

If somebody can help,

Thanks

Was able to see it finally. I watched Scott's video (ESP installation). I was missing an important point. When I downloaded Cubase and ESP, Cubase installed itself automatically. ESP was only downloaded, so I opened the folder, unzipped and installed (all by default). I'm now able to add it into Cubase. Never use Steinberg assistant so I did not know we had to perform this step manually.

I will connect my YC and M8X to see if I can play with it.

Unfortunately that seems to be a common issue on Windows PCs also.

If you don't mind would you please review this recent thread?

https://yamahasynth.com/community/montage-series-synthesizers/if-cubase-does-not-recognize-the-esp-plugin-this-is-why/

That thread is mostly about the problem on Windows PC (I have the same issue you describe) but it could help others if you provided the specifics of your OS (e.g. full version).

Since we haven't had much, if any, feedback from Yamaha support you can add your voice to ours by using the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of this page and report your issue to Yamaha also. The more people that report an issue the better chance we have that someone responds.

Different modes of "failure".  The Mac one here was an installation issues since the zip file of ESP was not decompressed initially.  So the message here is not to rely on the Steinberg assistant to completely install packages.

The other thread is about dependence on x86 ("Intel" ) instructions that may not be available in older systems but are required for ESP.  Something I would imagine any "M" (M1, M2, M3, M4) apple product would be immune to.  Not sure if (older) Apple Intel based CPUs are similarly impacted.  But this is not the case here.

Sounds like he's up and running.

Ddion71, Toby's pointed out the Windows issues, so the only other common problem that I've seen is that ESP seems to require a pretty hefty and well tuned audio environment or you might end up with audio glitches and performance problems.

That said, I agree with Jason as I'd be surprised if you have such issues with an M class Mac. My problems are due to running PCs that I bought second hand from a Tyrannosaurus Rex (he assured me they had only been driven by a little old lady to go to church on Sundays).

Here's hoping  you're good to go!
