I'm not able to get my Montage ver 2.0 to read my usb with just the 2.5 update 8N70OS_.pgm file on it when I boot up holding down the up arrow & utility buttons. It just goes to a normal start as if the usb didn't have anything on it. I don't have any problem storing backups or libraries to the usb, so it reads it's there Any ideas?
Sorry you are having an issue with your Synthesizer. That needs to be looked at by an authorized repair center.
Before that (a service event) - note that not all USB sticks that work for general file copying work for firmware updates. The stick may not be the issue, but trying another one is advised.
When I purchase a stick for firmware updates, I get the smallest one available that is USB 2.0. 4GB or as close to it as possible.
Should not have fancy multiple partitions like the SanDisk ones usually do. Formatted to FAT32 and remove extra partitions first if they exist.
Try unplugging your keyboard from the wall for 30 seconds. Some have said this helps internally reset the keyboard.
In general, be sure to backup first by creating an X7A file.

Hi, as i read your post you put the .pgm file unzip on the root of your usb device, not in a folder ?
I have made a video on Montage for OS 1.20, the process is the same for OS 2.50:
Suit Jason advice, format your usb device on the Montage and copy on the root the .pgm file, retry, let us know if it solve the problem.
You guys are great! We did it. I looked at Jason's link & followed the instructions in the article. It read my update file & installed it. I think it was probably because I wasn't inserting the update USB BEFORE I powered down. I had been putting it in after powering down. Lot's of good info in the article. Thanks again.
