loading version 2.0 on my Yamaha montage 7. I just get an error, it says says ng in red. what does ng mean? I followed the instructions to only have the version 2.0 update on the USB and hold down the up arrow and utility buttons while switching the keyboard on. Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

I would say find a USB stick that works to update firmware on Montage and use it only for that purpose - keeping the stick set aside only for this purpose and for nothing else. Since firmware is really small compared to most sizes of USB flash drives you can purchase today - I'd purchase the smallest USB 2.0 drive I could (4 or 8GB) and keep that in an envelope marked "Montage Firmware Update".

You can see the USB flash drive is mostly the common issue found.

I just did this update recently, i had to first format my usb using the montage then i loaded the files to the usb you have to make sure the files are in the main directory of the usb and not in a folder on the usb or the montage will not locate the file. Hope that helps.
