This has been an ongoing problem for me. No matter what I do the audio that is captured in the DAW is a thin sliver of a waveform compared to what I hear coming out of the Montage. I dont know what other setting to do to make it louder when recording. has anyone figured this out?
I am using the usb to pc connection and running everything on a midi track with the midi out set to single channel 1.
Then on a second audio track I have it set to Stereo In which is the only meter that is showing any movement when the Montage is playing. But the end result is a bare sliver.
Thanks
Are there other users who have this same problem or can run some tests?
I ran some tests using Youlean loudness meter. The drums on the Montage are most telling. Same midi file with 100% Velocity controlling plugin drums vs the Montage.
Montage Ts Hip Hop Kit at max part level = -41 LUFS Shortterm
XO drums any kit level set to 75% = -25 LUFS Shortterm
Eden Drums any kit level set to 60% = -27 LUFS Shortterm
You can hear it immediately.
I found a work around in my DAW and am able to boost the signal +6db from the midi track before rendering audio. I dont have to change anything on the Montage. Its a step I have to do every time but it will have to do to match the levels of everything else in the DAW.
Another practical suggested fix would be to use a separate audio interface and feed the Montage into that and apply some gain before sending to the DAW.
