In my anger after learning that my grandmother died over the weekend I played a bit hard and now a key is a bit stiff (though “playing hard” still counts as normal use).

Are these devices able to be repaired or shall I just get another?

Regards,
L. Spiro

My condolences.

I'm not sure if this would be covered under warranty for your geo. Given the release date of the Montage, nearly all of them should fall under the 1yr warranty period. Here is the USA information:

The best bet is to see about warranty service/replacement.

The keys and mechanical parts have replacements. The parts department can often sell/send in-production spares and sometimes can help sort out what the part number is when you are not a service tech.

However, if fixing your current board is what you want to do, I would suggest finding a certified service technician.

If that is still not your preference, the service manual is available:

Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R
