Hi,

I saw there is a swap function in the setlist mode. Is there also an insert function? So you can insert a slot and every preset after that will move one space to the back?

Right now I use the Master mode on my XS as a setlist. I like to keep all the presets behind each other so with one touch of a button I have the next sound ready to play. But when we are rehearsing with the band and we want to add a song (with the corresponding preset) in a medley, I have to manually move every preset one space backwards to have that extra slot available. Not very handy.
So i'm kinda hoping for an insert function. But since the setlist is not infinite, what would happen to the 16th preset of the 16th page?...

Tnx!

The fact that making a Live Set is so quick, and so very easy, and you have so many, just make a new one. I don't know off hand if there is an "insert" feature or even how that would work. Just create a new one.

Tnx for your reply, Bad Mister.

It still seems to be a lot of work to create a new setlist when all I want to do is move a few presets a few spaces back or forward.
So maybe I asked the wrong question. Instead of an insert function, is there a "move" function where you can select multiple presets and move them all a few spaces back or forward? Kind of like the swap function but with the option to select multiple presets at the same time? So there won't be a problem inserting an extra space since there is a limit in one live set.
Sorry for me to be rattling on about this but to me it is important to have a fast workflow during rehearsals. No musician wants to wait for the keyboard guy to have his sounds organized.

Many thanks!

I'll have to look into this further tomorrow morning. You can COPY and/or SWAP any Performances in a Live Set. Honestly, I've not pushed this to see how far you can take it. But as you will see it is so fast (and easy) to create a Live Set I cannot imagine that it could take more than 30 seconds to reorder an entire sets worth of programs.

I used to work around this problem on my Motifs by programming about 12 performances per bank and leaving the last 4 'free'. That way if I needed to insert a sound I would just have to move a handful over. Or I'd just insert the performance/voice for the new song after the last performance in the bank and make a note on the setlist that I'd need to select the patch out of order when I got to that song.

Being able to insert/add, move, drag and drop, re-order performances in a live set list would be a really useful feature. There are always work arounds but don't diminish the practical value this has to many live performers. its something we're used to and expect with our many other simple cheap electronic devices. If I want to add a song to a playlist, I don't have to completely reconstruct a new playlist - I just add it and then move it to the order position I want. Same to re-order, I just drag it to where I want it - boom!.

thats (a big reason) why we all bought Melas Librarian for our XF - to quickly do trivial things like re-order a set list when the singer tells us he wants to move the 9th song to #4 position because he just feels it will flow better there for this one show.

future state ... maybe.

Anyone heard from John on where he is with his Montage tool kit? 🙂

You cannot really know how simple and easy creating and adjusting a set list is until you actually do it. We've taken dealers across the country through the process - it is quick and easy using the touch screen. I'm cannot really be concerned about how each individual finds it, because obviously it will work flawlessly for some and others will never be pleased (this is the nature of such things). But I know it is quick and easy, and will work fine for most. You'll have to let us know when you try it.

Some people play one sound per song, others play several. I can't tell you if it will work for you because I don't know how you configure your set list. If you have scores of changes, well you might have to touch a few more button that those who have less changes. Your mileage will vary. I also know that as good as Montage sounds you'll probably find a way to make it work for you! 🙂
