So in December I bought a Yamaha Montage 8- absolutely love it. I am currently waiting for my new I Mac to be delivered. Because the Montage- also is- (finally) the audio interface- i do not believe I need a separate "interface box." I use Digital Performer so Even though Cubase is bundled (i do not wish to rebuy a near 700 worth of composing software/DAW.)-
1. So Am I First Right that Montage Connect can be used (VST/Plugin)- into my DAW with the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver? And that it will assist in facilitating the communication between it- and the DAW?
2. Since it is a audio interface- it will record MIDI and AUDIO so I can play and record directly from MOntage 8- into my DAW?

I would say yes to your questions. I connect the Montage to my Mac and when I open my DAW, on both settings, for midi and audio it appears as Montage. No additional interface needed.
