I have three parts, Piano, Strings, and Pads. I am trying to have sustain on parts 2 & 3 (i.e. Strings and Pads) i've figured how to disable sustain on the Piano, however, I would like the ability to add back sustain when desired for live performances. Is that somehow possible without having to go through menu's to re-enable the disabled sustain on the piano part?
Additionally, I have two pedals, FC3, FC4A, is it possible to do the above by assigning sustain to one pedal for real-time control for the piano and have strings and pads connected to the other pedal.
Do you need to switch between "sustain" and "no sustain" on the piano part while playing live on the fly? Or are you sometimes playing live and sometimes not?
If the latter, just use 2 performances, one with sustain on and one with it off. Select the one you want.
If you need to switch on the fly, the easiest way is to have 2 piano parts in your performance, one with sustain on and one with it off. Then use Scenes to mute/unmute whichever piano you want (or change KBD CTRL on the two parts). To switch between the sustain piano and the unsustained one, just switch scenes.
There's no way to have 2 sustain pedals at the same time, but you could use a foot controller mapped to change the envelope release time on the strings & pads to simulate a "sustain pedal" on those parts.
Kevin,
Thank you for the reply, I am sometimes playing live and sometimes not, I was hoping not using a part space for this but might have to, I was aware of the keyboard control method and mute method. I'll see how this works. Thanks for your suggestion.

You could also use A.SW1 or A.SW2 to select between elements (XA Control) between the two PARTs if you'd prefer that over use of scenes, keyboard control, or mute.
The foot switch can be mapped to control an assignable switch - so you can even use a latching footswitch to turn on/off which elements are used (i.e. selecting one or the other piano PART as active).

Jason, thanks for the reply, I was able to implement this method and it works really well. Thanks. Followup,
Is there a way to change all the elements of a part globally, I need to turn on XA Control for the 6 elements for the piano part but find I have to do this manually.
