I just wanna say I'm really glad that I was able to learn the Montage (and connecting it to DAW) thru the internet with the help of this forum. Before that I had the old DX7. It came with a complicated manual, which I never understood. There was no internet where you could research anything, there was noone to answer your questions. So I gave up on ever learning how to program a single sound. As far as I heard, that was the case for most people in the 80ies, that's why everyone used presets and everone sounded the same... So cool that nowadays we can learn everthing online and ask someone like Bad Mister. So much better than the old days of ignorance. thank you!
Hello Gabi - very good point! Manuals are necessarily written by experts, and therefore are often misunderstood by the rest of us - well, me anyway.- because the 'everyone knows that' syndrome creeps in, and vital steps are missed out. This Forum - and the Internet generally - is a resource beyond price. I've had my Montage for 10 months now, and still get lost in its intricacies despite writing my own Manual as I go along - all gleaned from this Forum - and I believe that all hardware manufacturers rely upon it as much we do to dot the i's and cross the t's - imagine a Manual that described all that the Montage can do! It would put 'Gray's Anatomy' to shame ...
Hi Rod, the funny thing is, a great video tutorial did indeed exist in the pre youtube days, but I found this one 30 years too late. Who knew what was out there in the world before you could goodle it?
