Hi,
Recently I bought a used Yamaha Montage M8x and I am trying to get my VST that comes bundled with it. The previous owner is willing to let me have it, but we do not know how to unlink it from his account. When I use the download access code it says that its already been used. Any suggestions/ideas/solutions are welcome.

The best advice I can offer is to use the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of the page and ask Yamaha what the process is to get the transfer made.

Hello,
The issue is you will need to get the previous owner to deactivate his authorization from his My Steinberg account with the Steinberg Activation Manager software. That is why you cannot install E.S.P. to your system: It must be deactivated first and removed from the original owner's profile.

Deactivation is easy, but as far as I know removal from the account does not exist as a clickable option. If you know how it can be done, can you share the info or a link?

Unfortunately that is why you have to deal with Yamaha and/or Steinberg directly. They are the only ones that can make such account changes.
And since it isn't your account with the issue you may need to have the previous owner, and account holder, ask Yamaha to removal it from their account.
You might prepare an appropriate email message and ask the previous owner to send it from THEIR accounts email address to 'synthesizers@yamaha.com'.

This isn't the only deactivation topic. The original license holder would have to do this.

Thank you all for your help. After much pain and actually contacting a friend that works at Yamaha, this is the official solution that works 100% as tried and tested by me. No other solution works.
For some reason I cant post a link to the solution so go to Steinberg helpcenter and search for How-to-resell-Steinberg-software-Resale-Wizard
The procedure must be activated by the previous owner and is quite quick.
