Hello, after updating to 2.0 all my user presets are gone. Whats wrong with it?
Honestly, it fascinates me sometimes how people do updates/upgrades without saving their user files in first place. Besides that, not only is there a caution message on the download page written in red letters, the readme file in the zipped updater also clearly states that all user data will be overwritten.
Yes it fascinates me also as it clearly states in red letters, to save your user data (e.g. to usb flash drive; use another empty usb flash drive to upload new firmware ), as all user data will be lost after the upgrade, and will need to be reloaded after the upgrade.

Simply restore the USER Bank by loading your data from a backup file.
If you did not create an actual Backup .X7A file (which is recommended by the instructions, and restores everything as you had it), you can load the most recent .X7U File that you created. You will need to reconstruct the items in your Library area, if any.

“user preset” is not a correct term. You could say “User Performances” or “User programs”. But there are Preset Performances and there are User Performances.
There are several Types of BANKS:
PRESET - this refers to those permanently burned into memory by Yamaha. There are 2143 Preset Performances, starting with “CFX + FM EP” and ending with “Turkish Kit”
USER - this refers to those edited Performance that you, the user, have STORED to the internal memory. There are 640 User Performance locations. The User Bank is initially empty... you can see what is currently in your User Bank using either of the following methods:
1) press [CATEGORY SEARCH] > Touch “Bank/Favorite” > Touch “User” > the screen will populate with the entire User Bank, use the touch screen, cursor/increment-decrement buttons or your right front panel buttons to navigate the list
2) press [UTILITY] > “Contents” > “Data Utility” > Touch the “Performance Folder” to view and manage a list of the current User Bank Performances. This is how you can select one or more Performance to “Delete” them. The Performance Folder will also tell you how many out of the 640 locations contain data. 0/640
FAVORITE - this refers to Performances that you have marked (yellow star icon) from any of the various Banks and assembles them in one place for convenience. Be sure to mark those Performances you find yourself using often. It is simply a convenient view of your Performance data.
LIBRARY - the actual name that appears on a Library Bank will depend on the Library (example, “Bosendorfer”, “ChickCorea...”, “Blueman”...) A Library represents 640 Performances and is made by assembling the data into the User Bank and then saving as... Library .X7L.
Hope that helps.
It has been so widely reported that even my grandfather, who has Alzheimer's, knew he had to make a backup before the update !!
