After much time researching the manual, and forum here and much effort at the Montage I’m thinking my goal is not a functionality of the Montage.

Has anyone successfully recorded voice over performance (instrumental part recorded) using the montage recorder alone without the use of a DAW?

I seem to be able to create as many as 16 performance tracks via overdub in MIDI mode in the recorder. Additionally, I can record voice in Audio mode in the recorder, or even play and sing and record in audio mode, but not create an audio part and superimpose it over other performance parts (tracks) recorded in MIDI mode.

I even tried creating voice part in audio mode, saving as MIDI and loading into MIDI mode for overdu. Doesn’t load/play.

Is this beyond the scope of the recorder?
