What HS series studio monitors work best for the Montage 8?

I'm building out my home studio around the Montage 8 and am currently debating on whether the HS7's or HS5's will be better long-term.
I'm not looking at the HS8s due to space/size constraints.

I'm leaning towards the HS7's as I believe they will build out the smaller apartment rooms I'll be working in over the next few years. Then adding the HS8S, once I've got an entire basement to convert in a few years (to free up the midrange and fill out the space). Nothing I'm doing is going to be super bass-heavy, primarily concerned with accuracy across the frequency spectrum.

Will the HS7's or the HS5's have a more accurate midrange once paired with the HS8S?

It's a huge drop in quality and range from HS8 to HS7 - which are really 6.5's, and aren't nearly as special as the well deserved rep of the HS8's casts across the range.

So much so that it's worth considering other brands in the 6 to 6.5 inch range - something that will do your Montage justice - and that's been designed to be a great smaller monitor, not just to glom off the fame of their big brother.

Whereas the HS8 doesn't really have any competition in its price point and has the benefit of being a defacto standard, that's not the case for the littler HS models.

Here's some chats about monitors prior:

But regardless of what history recorded as we went talking on this, and assuming you hate hissing as I do, maybe passive loudspeakers is a better way to go as a new, second to just one, power balanced amplifier has been released.
Mine, in silver, is arriving around next Saturday after being on standby for two years waiting for the magic to happen....

Have a look....
