1 - PIANO ROLL - AKAI MPC 3.0 and FORCE now have one, FANTOM has one

2 - BOTH LINEAR and PATTERN (Ableton style) sequencing modes - with a seamless link between the two ... - again -FANTOM has this.

There are counter examples to that sentiment.

When it comes to the target audience of the keyboard and what features it supports I do think there are times when suggestions are counter to the strategic vision of what the keyboard is.   However, with enough voices there can even be inroads made to change or course correct the direction.

Thats why Yamaha bought Steinberg, you have Cubase for that.

Or you can hookup a hardware sequencer like this one: removed link

its a nice switch from when you want a break from the whole mouse/computer screen editing.

I wish the montage had a TR style step sequencer, with the switches to go with it, if i'd wish anything to change.

And for Cubase? a tracker style sequencer would be a nice addition as wel.

Would you, perhaps, agree that they can NOT listen to someone unless that someone actually talks to them?

I've read many threads where people discuss their ideas and thoughts but then I can't find there user name on IdeaScale where they have made their suggestions to Yamaha.

The old saw 'squeaky wheel gets the grease' comes to mind. Using 'cut and paste' you can post ideas and suggestions with no more effort than it takes to create a thread or reply in the forums.

My own opinion is that Yamaha is much more likely to read/see things on IdeaScale than they are in the forums.

The R&D team which is tightly coupled with the engineers who craft these keyboards review Ideascale on a weekly basis.  The same audience does not review the forum on a weekly basis as far as I know.
