Hi Motif Gurus.
When designing MULTI's, I spend enormous amounts of time listening to the various ARPs for the perfect groove to go with the part and song.
I have often wondered if an ARP notation database has ever been created, and if not, any suggestions on a relatively painless way to do this would be great too.
For drum and percussion ARPs, I would be mostly interested in finding them based on rhythmic properties. For example, it would be awesome if I could find all the patterns with a given MIDI note (or a range of notes) on beats 1, 2, 3 and 4.
For melodic ARPs, I might want to find all the ones that play a descending riff in an eight note pattern. This is actually one that I need to find for a song my church is doing this weekend, but will probably have to go without.
Either way, I know that this will come up again and again, and thought perhaps to reach out to the Yamaha Community to see what's out there.
To clarify the 2nd part of inquiry, if there is no database available, could I make one by directing the output as MIDI to my recording software, then transfer that somehow to a database (it is data) for querying?
Best Regards,
Tony Gardner
