I was wondering if there is some sort of list of acceptable FireWire cards that the FW16e will recognize, as well as info on those that it definitely
will NOT function with.

I have a StarTech 2 Port PCI Express 1394a card - it has a VIA - VT6315N Chipset

I have a Sony Vaio (Model VPCF12Z1E) laptop, with a Ricoh 1394 OHCI Host Controller.
Still checking to see whether or not what I have is compatible with the FW16e.
