What is the difference between the Motif XF and The MOXF?

I played the both but I did not feel any difference.
except the hardware keyboard material, the keyboard touch,
the faders and the display

I have the Motif XF6.
I dont use it as a sampler,or to creat patterns or songs
I am using it only for sounds and performance arpegiator sounds

In my case , it it useful to downgrade it to MOXF6?

What is the difference between the Motif XF and The MOXF?

The letters "tif" 🙂
And about $1500 🙂

Sorry, I have to start with a couple of (somewhat) funny responses because after rereading my initial answer, I sound like I'm lecturing you and not really answering your question. I don't really want to lecture. But it sounds very much like remorse on your part, non-positive thinking... So if it sounds like I'm lecturing you, I guess I am... Please forgive me, when some one tells me they aren't using something, I usually think they mean "yet"!

You are asking... If $1500 is the same as $3000 (using the approximate suggested retail pricing in US Dollars).

You are asking: what you will miss if you downgrade. Impossible to know. What you are comparing has little to nothing to do with what you MIGHT use in the future... Unless you've reached that stage in life where you refuse to change or grow.

Yours is a very pessimist's view of the world question ... "If I empty half the glass, what will I miss out on..."

I can only say, that the Motif XF 6 is indeed worth double the price, in spite of what you say you are using or not using. You are looking for what we used to call "a get out of jail free card" _ it's a form of buyer's remorse (you're saying: I'm not clever enough to use all the advanced features and since, being a confirmed pessimist, I'll never be clever enough or your thinking I already know what those features offer and I'll never ever use them) - you are looking for a way out, by itemizing the features, you want to put a price tag on each one, you want to OVERthink each one, then you want someone to agree with you that you'll never miss them ...this way you have someone else to blame when later... You actually want to take advantage of the additional features. Sorry for the lecture. But I firmly believe it's the wrong way to approach this... Not just for these two items, but in general.

Yes both the Camry and the Lexus get you from point A to point B... If you have the Lexus ...Enjoy the luxury of the ride, don't question the overall experience.

Here, both are fine keyboards... what I usually ask is... If there were two piles of cash, and you could have either one - no questions asked. The first pile has $1500 in it, the other has $3000 in it... You can have either one ... Choose. You'd choose the $3000, of course.
🙂 any discussion about not needing the extra $ is simply not going to be entertained.

I will not be party to convincing you that the difference is trivial, it's not.
I've been helping customers like yourself for more years than I can count, and have learned long ago *not* to play along when someone says they are not using 'x' feature and that they will never use it. I've seen that change, more often than not.

You may discover (tomorrow) that the RESAMPLING function is exactly what you need. You mentioned Performance Arpeggios. Did you know: There are Performance Arpeggios that cannot be recorded and played back via MIDI data; this is when the XFs ability to record its own audio comes in very handy. Never say Never. The XF also can complete a project all by itself - you can record your finished mix direct to a USB drive connected to the TO DEVICE port or direct to a computer via Ethernet.

Sorry, if I sound like I'm lecturing. There are reasons for the price difference; expansion options, connectivity options, flexibility. I hope some of that was helpful.

I find Bad Mister's words really informative and with a deep insight. He's our virtual daddy 🙂
About choosing either from Motif XF or MOXF, when in december 2012 I bought Motif XF, MOXF was still to exist. Today, if I had to choose I'd buy Motif XF again for several reasons, mostly because I hate limited instruments. It doesn't matter if I sample and create sampled based Voices twice in a year or if I sketch my ideas with the internal sequencer every three months. What matters most to me is knowing I can work with an open instrument like Motif XF.

I have read lots and lots on this topic. An issue worth mentioning is the D/A converter.
Are the D/A converters in both instruments different?

I have made a test with my MOXF.

I recorded a small piano part into the Cubase as a midi track.
Then I switched the ASIO driver from Mackie to MOXF and recorded the midi track as an audio track into the Cubase. This should bypass MOXF D/A converter.
I switched back to my external Mackie audio interface.
I set the volumes of both midi (actually MOXF) and audio tracks (from Cubase) equally as much as possible.
The midi track is playedback via MOXF DA converters dircetly into the Mackie interface.
The audio track is playedback via Cubase into the Mackie interface.
No additional EQ or other processing is applied.

I can hear very slight difference. The track from Cubase sounds a bit warmer, brighter and nicer to my ears.
Probably DA converter issue.

I have no direct comparison to Motif XF right now.
