I am going to learn the Van Halen song "Jump" Is it better to attempt to record the bass and drum lines, then play along on keyboard. Or is it better (for sure easier) to just find the song on YouTube, then audio it into the back of the MOTIF, adjust the volume, then play along. I am new and haven't learned how to record yet. Buying a new computer and DAW software isn't in the cards.

Thanks, John

It is more satisfying to record the parts yourself. With the Motif XF you should be able to reproduce all of the instrumental sounds to create a convincing recreation of that song. Take your time, the satisfaction in doing the tracks yourself is unparalleled. The results will be worth the effort.

Thanks again, Bad Mister. And this can be done without buying DAW software?
