Hello to everybody! I hope someone can help me with this.

I am trying to do the following in a live situation:

Play in MASTER MODE- SONG: I will split the motif in a couple of ZONES to play different voices at the same time.
However, the issue is that I need to switch to a SOLO LEAD VOICE, in the middle of the song, for a solo, and I need the whole range of keys to play it
Then I would like to return to that ZONE division of voices.

Is that possible somehow ?

Yes. You don't really give us enough details to be exact, but the idea is setup an extra Zone that is to trigger your solo lead sound... There are 8 Zones so unless you are already using them all you should have an extra Zone.

You are using a SONG MIXING to house your complex split setup, simply add the Solo Lead Voice to one of the Parts

If your XF is updated to the latest firmware, you can then activate and deactivate Zones using the buttons [1]-[8] for Internal Zones and buttons [9]-[16] for external Zones... While in Master mode, press [PERFORMANCE CONTROL] button.

With PERFORMANCE CONTROL active the Zones that are playing will be lit. Say your complex split setup uses Zones 1, 2, and 3; setup Zone 4 to play your lead across the entire keyboard.Simply turn Off the Zones creating your layer and turn On the Zone for your solo lead. You can use four fingers simultaneously to turn OFF 1, 2, and 3 while turning ON Zone 4.

Ok Bad Mister, I forgot to say I am using MOTIF XS. Is this possible in this version ? ( I have not updated firmware ever).

Sorry, you posted in the Motif XF forum and the answer I gave applies to the Motif XF, not the Motif XS. So this solution will not work for you.

What you will have to do is as follows:
Your Master program is associated with a SONG MIXING setup, when you want to play your solo Lead Synth sound you must exit Master mode. You can either just hit the [SONG] button and have the synth lead sound waiting as one of the MIXING Parts, or just go directly to Voice mode. When you need to return, just press [MASTER] to return to your multi-zoned setup.

In the future please post your Motif XS questions in the LEGACY SYNTH Forum.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply Bad mister.

That works perfect when I use MASTER MODE with VOICE or PERFORM.
However when I am using SONG in MASTER MODE , and the sequencer is running , it will stop as soon as I switch to VOICE for the solo lead. I really cant figure it out , the solution might be the MOTIF XF, with the zone performance control.

Sorry, I failed to realize you were actually using the sequencer... The solution is the Motif XF and its Master mode 'Performance Control' feature!
