Trumpet and Flugelhorn VOICE structure explained

Is it possible if someone to explain how these two VOICEs are created? I know how the AWM2 architecture works but what I'm interest is:

How the sound engineer at Yamaha created these VOICEs?Based on what parameters and comparing to what?

For example if you edit the flugelhorn, you'll see that actually the legato mode (AF1 or AF2) has 4 layers compared to 2 layers for the normal VOICE. How these waveforms are selected? based on what characteristic of flugelhorn?

Also, If someone has some good and free resources on how to arrange brass sections/ensemble in MOTIF it's much appreciated. I'm talking about the general theory. For example the trumpet is usually a bold instrument so I've heard in many situations that it also plays melody. I've read a few articles but I want to know how to do properly do this on my keyboard.

Sorry, it is unclear which two Voices you are referring to, please give exact name or location. For example the Voice named "Flugelhorn" is not a legato Voice. Perhaps you mean another.

My bad again 😛 I'm talking about PRE4 E16 (Trombone) which when you turn the AF1 on, it's legato. What parameters do you consider to design such a sound? For example this VOICE consists of both legato and non-legato samples for the legato mode. Isn't it supposed to be all legato when it's assigned to legato?

I have very little knowledge of brass instrument and even less in brass section arrangement and I'm interested to learn how brass instruments are generally set up for a small performance and how I can simulate it in the keyboard. I immensely appreciate if anyone can share some of her/his knowledge or any online resources!

Here's how it works, when you activate "AF1 On"...this switches this Voice from Poly to Mono. You must be mono to play with a legato gesture. The AF1 switch is used to switch this Voice from Polyphonic to Mono mode. Mono mode is a requirement for the "legato" response. Now when you activate AF1 and you execute a legato gesture, the XF will call upon the Elements marked Legato for XA CONTROL.

XA CONTROL (Expanded Articulation Control) determines exactly when an Element's Waveform will sound.

Element 1 plays under Normal conditions when a key is struck with a velocity of 1-90
Element 2 plays under Normal conditions when a key is struck with a velocity between 91-127

Element 3 will only play when AF1 is lit and you play legato (without lifting the previous key) , Element 3 responds to velocities 0-90
Element 4 will only play when AF1 is lit and you play legato, Element 4 responds to velocities 91-127

Element 5 and 6 also respond to legato velocities 0-90 and 91-127, respectively. They have a much shorter and quicker envelope to give the sound of the trombone more detail.

The legato Waveforms are of a trombone, but have been edited so that the "attack" portion is missing... So you will see the letters "Of" in the Waveform name indicating the OFFSET character of this audio.. The wave begins some time after the trombone player attacked the note. So the Normal articulation Waveform includes the player's natural attack, it is "knitted" onto the sound when the XA CONTROL requirements are met. So instead of reattaching when you play legato the sound smoothly moves to the appropriate legato Waveform (sans a new attack).

If you begin a phrase the Element 1 or 2 will sound Normally. Only when you subsequently play legato while in Mono will the Legato Elements sound.
