Can anybody please help? I am new to the motif and have encountered a problem.
When in Voice mode, I have the voice I like and then apply the arp button to it. When in voice mode, I can play the voice and the arp that is pre-set to it and I like the result.
The problem seems to be when I want to record this in song or pattern mode, the arp does not play anymore and I'm at a loss as how to apply the original arp to the sound. i.e. (the original voice and arp that is applied to this voice when in simple voice mode. My question is, (and I'm sure there is a quick process to do this,) how do I apply this in song/pattern mode to play the voice and the arp at the same time in song or pattern mode?

It is always best to be specific when you want a specific answer. We can only give the “in general” answer because the behavior of some Arps are different from others.
In general, when you add an Arp to a Voice in Voice mode, it does not become apart of the Voice as if you changed the AEG of the individual Element/Oscillator, or the Insert Effect, you have “associated” a musical phrase with the Voice. A phrase played on a guitar is not literally apart of the guitar... it maybe associated with the guitar as an instrument, but it isn’t technically apart of the physical guitar. While the Amplitude Envelope Generator of each Oscillator is technically describing the size and shape of the guitar itself. And because there can be eight oscillators, you’ll need a way to apply an “offset” which will move all envelopes together. These associations and offset parameters, allow you tweak/customize a Voice, locally.
I am making that distinction, so you’ll understand when you stored the association” of that musical phrase with the Voice, then you move that Voice to another mode, does it come along automatically or is it only brought along when specifically requested!
The extra parameters that are not literally apart of the instrument emulation (like the Arp phrases) can be copied to the Part (a Part is the slot that holds the Voice in Performance Mode (4) and Song/Pattern Mixing Mode (16).
In order to “copy” these extra parameters you must activate the “Parameter with Voice” option prior to selecting the Voice for the Part
What that means is... in your MIXING setup *before* you select the Voice in the Part... turn ON “Param w. Vce”, this tells the XF to copy all the associated parameters along with the Voice itself. The act of selecting the Voice in this Part while this parameter is On, is enough to bring along the Arp phrases (and other “offsets”) you associated with the Voice back in VOICE mode.
This parameter is found in [MIXING] > [EDIT] > Select the PART 1-16 > [F1] VOICE
Just below the Bank and Number selection is “Parameter with Voice”
Turn to On, reselect the Voice.
Done.
There are two Arp Switches... one turns the “Part Arp On/Off”, the other is the “Master Arp On/Off”.
Naturally they both need to be “On” for your Arp phrase to play. Also the Tempo of the Arp is a parameter set for the Song, which might be different from when in Voice Mode.

Parameter with Voice set to ON:
Determines whether or not the following parameter settings of the selected Voice are copied from the Voice to the current Part when you change a Voice for the current Part individually.
• Arpeggio settings
• Filter Cutoff Frequency
• Filter Resonance
• Amplitude EG
• Filter EG
• Pitch Bend Range (Upper/Lower)
• Note Shift
Note: Regardless of the Parameter with Voice setting, the following settings are always copied when a Normal Voice is selected: Mono/Poly, Porta Sw (Portamento Part Switch), Porta Time (Portamento Time) and Porta Mode (Portamento Mode).
