Hi,
I am getting a USB controller to connect to my MOXF8. However, the one I saw is a M-Audio Key Rig 49 reasonable priced which only has a USB connection no MIDI out.
Can this be used to connect directly to my MOXF8? If so, can it be used in the same way as MIDI to access the sounds on my MOXF8?
Thanks
If you're gonna connect a USB controller it has to be via a computer, u can not connect it directly to the moxf, sorry...
Thanks thought as much.
So I need a MIDI controller then? I assume I can use my MOXF8 as a main board and use the MIDI controller for sounds that I have on different MIDI channels in MASTER mode? And can a different mode be used other than MASTER mode as an alternative?

If you don't want to use a computer in the setup...

Don't know if it is the wording but the MOXF MASTER mode is all about CONTROL - that is, Transmitting Out via MIDI. You would only use MASTER Mode when using the MOXF as your main keyboard controller. If you are not using the MOXF as your main board, you will not be using MASTER mode.

You definitely need a to use a different mode. In VOICE mode you can play one sound at a time. In PERFORMANCE mode you can split and layer four sounds on the same MIDI channel for simultaneous play. In SONG or PATTERN MIXING mode you can freely assign the 16 PARTS to whatever channel you desire.
Hope that helps.
