I recently received a .X6A file from another user. I really like some of his sounds and arpeggios and I would like to add them to my present setup. How do I take a voice or an arpeggio, somehow save it and then copy it over to another location on my system.

Is there a way to save a single voice and then load that single voice from a USB drive to your MOXF memory? Page 155 of reference manual appears to say you can only save ALL VOICES. Page 156 appears to say you can load a single voice out of the file. Have not been able to do that though.

Okay I got past that....sort of weird though. Rotation of the AI knob does not do a change in the display for every click of the knob. For example, if the display was in ALL, one click may not change it, may have to do a 180 degree rotation to get to voice bank or single voice not sure what the exact names were. Just going to take me some considerable time to merge everything....first the voices then the performances, but at least I am learning a little.

Any update regarding the above question?
Even I want to copy few tones from another backup file and load it into my current system without disturbing my current setup

A file with the extension .X6A is a MOXF “ALL” data file. This means it contains all of the user created data on the MOXF that created the file.

If you select to LOAD data from that ALL data file you must choose what type of data you wish to extract from this file. It includes 384 Normal User Voices + 32 User Drum Kits, 256 Performances, 64 Songs, 64 Patterns, etc., etc.

_ If you set the TYPE = “All” then you load everything in the file overwriting you’re current User data
_ If you set the TYPE = “Voice” then you get to choose which Voice from the file you wish to load and you tell it which internal location to overwrite
_ If you set the TYPE = “1 Bank Voice” then you get to choose User 1, User 2, User 3, or UDR and load either 128 Normal Voices,or the 32kits.
_ If you set the TYPE = “Pattern” then you get to choose which one of the 64 Patterns
_ If you set the TYPE = “Song” then you get to choose which one of the 64 Songs
