[quotePost id=115776]As indicated in the title, this has happend the last two time I've loaded data. Not sure why this has happened. Any suggestions? Thank you[/quotePost]Likely this happened because you used an incorrect method in loading the data.

Since there is no mention of the File type or the exact procedure you used, it appears you attempted to load a MOXF ALL data file .X6A with the File TYPE = All. Doing so would overwrite ALL data currently in your User Banks.

If it was an ALL data file (.X6A) and your desire was to load just one Bank (128), you would have needed to set the FILE LOAD TYPE = “1Bank Voice” — which allows you to choose one of the 3 Normal (and 1 Drum) Banks contained in the file and direct it to one of the internal User Bank you wish to overwrite.

Press [FILE]
Select LOAD
Set TYPE = 1Bank Voice
When you highlight the File you wish to load from and press ENTER, the file will “open”
It opens and reveals its Source material by Bank.
Select the Bank you desire to load from this file
Target the internal Bank you wish to load it to…
Then Execute the Load operation.

Extra Credit:
What is the FILE extension (the three characters after the dot)?

This will tell us what TYPE of File or Files you are dealing with and then you can tell what your options are based on what you want to load.

For example, if the File is an ALL data file, it would have an extension = .X6A

This would mean you have the following load options available:
1) You could set the [FILE] > TYPE = ALL and load the entire file (all User Voices, and Performances; any Songs and Patterns).
2) You could set the [FILE] > TYPE = VOICE and then you could select individual VOICES from within the File and target any locations in your internal MOXF as you desire
3) You could set the [FILE] TYPE = 1 BANK VOICE and then you could load any of the FILE’s Banks and direct it toward any of your internal bank locations as you desire.

When you direct data from a FILE to an internal location (be in an individual VOICE or an entire bank of 128, you will overwrite the data in the internal locations. This is why you always make a back up file of your data.

Using the FILE TYPE setting that reflects what you want to do, you can load all or some of the data. We also highly recommend the MOXF6/MOXF8 EDITORS when working with “VOICES”. The EDITORS will allow you to select which VOICES you want to load and assemble your sound banks on the computer screen (you can literally drag and drop the data from the FILE side of the screen to your internal locations on the other side of the screen - then when satisfied, you can BULK the results to your MOXF.
