Hello.
I recently bought the Yamaha Moxf6 and i'm in need of advice.
I wish to connect my Roland A-88 controller and an iPad To the Moxf so that i can acess both Moxf and iPad Sounds (iPad audio streamed to the Moxf usb host port) and also take advantage of all the apps available to edit Moxf Sounds from the iPad.
Please keep in mind that since the Moxf only allows one mode for transmit and receive midi and audio: Midi or Host usb
Can you advise on a iPad interface and / or connection that allows me to connect Roland A-88 (Master controller) via midi out to iPad midi in, than i can rout A-88 midi signal through iPad midi & audio out to the Moxf??
Can you also advise on Apps to manage incoming midi signal from A-88 and routing to midi out iPad?
Sorry if my Question is a bit confusing, what i want is to be able to connect A-88 and iPad using only USB HOST Moxf connection.
Thanks for the help,
Ricardo Silva

Sorry, I don’t know anything about the controller you mention, perhaps the question is best posed to the Roland Corp.

Actually my question could be applied to any midi controller..
Thanks
If using a computer (Win or Mac) you could merge controllers because while connected to the computer via USB, you can still connect and use an external controller via the MOXF’s 5-pin MIDI In. The MOXF, which uses the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver, can take your external device’s MIDI and routes it through to the computer via the USB connection.
Depending on the App (I cannot state categorically that this is the case, because you are using the Apple Driver) you should be able to see the MOXF as multiple MIDI Ports (5 separate Ports)
Select Port 1 for the MOXF itself and select your external controller connected to the 5-pin MIDI IN of the MOXF as MIDI Port 3.
