Hello all, so first off I'd like to say I just bought the MoxF8, I've read the manual and tried a bunch of things but I am running into this issue I just can't wrap my head around.
-Mac OS
-Ableton 9
-MoxF8
When I first downloaded the Yamaha Steinberg Driver and connected my MoXF via USB, I was able to route Midi information to and from my MoXF. Basically I am trying to have the capability of "drawing in" midi notes in a blank midi channel in my DAW, with the output going to the MoXF and then have the audio come back to Ableton. This was going fine and working perfectly until just recently. Now my MoXF doesnt even register as a Midi instrument when I go to preferences in ableton. This seems to have happened when I configured the MoXF ports in the standalone MOXF Edit plug-in.
Any help would be great. I am stuck.

I'm sorry, but what plug-in are you talking about. The "YAMAHA MOXF6/MOXF8 Editor Standalone/VST" is called Standalone/VST because you can run it separately as a standalone program or you can run it as a VST3 plugin inside a DAW that is capable... (where you launch it inside the DAW).
But to call it a plugin is the opposite of running it standalone. Which are you doing?
Is your version of Ableton VST3 compatible?
How are you launching the MOXF Editor?
You should be able to do both, run it as a standalone application while you are connected to your DAW.
Close the Editor.
Setup your DAW, selecting the Yamaha Steinberg driver for both MIDI and Audio Options
Get that running again. Then attempt to launch and setup the Editor as a Standalone application.
Let us know.
