I think I am missing some setting that needs to be changed. I received some .x6A files from online. Most have drums and bass using arpeggios. I prefer playing my own bass line but when I turn off arpeggio for the bass line, either the voice does not play at all or it plays intermittently like there is some setting tied to the arpeggio that only allows it to be on periodically. Some other performances work fine. I have tried looking through different settings but cannot find anything that appears to cure this issue.

Help appreciated.

Parts can be set to “Arp Play Only” — as the name implies they only sound when the Arpeggio is set to run. This is usually the setting for the Drum Kits In Performances where you want to stop the Arp and play the keyboard normally. If there was no “Arp Play Only” setting you would hear a drum sound under every note you play when the Arp if Off.

It’s up to you whether or not you want Arpeggio assigned Parts to sound when the Arp is not running. Here’s how to set this:

You can set “Arp Play Only” as follows:
Press [EDIT]
Press a numbered button corresponding with the bass Part
Press [F1] VOICE
Press [SF2] MODE
set “Arp Play Only” = Off

Press [STORE] to update your Performance.

As to intermittent sound, that could be an entirely different thing. Parts can be set to play only within a specific Note Limit, and/or to respond only within a specific Velocity Limit range. While in Part Edit press [F1] VOICE > press [SF3] LIMIT to review when the Bass is set to sound.
C-2 thru G8 is the full range of MIDI (middle C = C3)
1-127 is full velocity range
