Good Morning
This is the second time, I am trying to install the remote tools to control Cubase.
I am using the Ver. 1.0.5.19 / The USB Driver is installed.
Using the Installation Manual, the installation is complete within 10 seconds.
It seems to be, that the green progress bar will vanished after reaching 50%
Also the editor could not be found.
I would appreciate if someone has an idea what I am doing wrong
Thank you
Buel
Windows Pro 8.1 - MOXF8 - Cubase Pro 10.5
Is your Windows 8.1 32-bit or 64-bit? Checking because Win 8.1 Pro comes in both variants and only 64-bit is supported by Cubase 10.
Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R
While you are looking up that information, we need to define what the MOXF Remote Tools is (and is not).
MOXF6/MOXF8 Remote Tools consists of two software components: MOXF6/MOXF8 Remote Editor and MOXF6/ MOXF8 Extension. MOXF6/MOXF8 Remote Editor is software which lets you edit/create Control Templates for the MOXF6/MOXF8 Music Synthesizer. MOXF6/MOXF8 Extension is software component that enables you to use the MOXF6/MOXF8 along with Cubase series. The MOXF6/MOXF8 Remote Tools Installer installs these two software components.
MOXF6/MOXF8 Remote Editor - allows you to create control templates for controlling VSTi plugins (including the MOXF VST). This Editor does NOT run in Cubase, it is launched along side of Cubase. On launch, it will search your installed VSTi and create a catalog of your plug-in synths, you can recall from among its 50 Preset Templates; if your plugins template does not appear, this Editor allows you create a custom one for that plugin.
From the wording of your post, it is not clear if you realize this is separate from the DAW REMOTE function that allows you to control CUBASE operations... Start/Stop, Arm Tracks for Record, Solo/Mute Tracks, open and close various DAW screens, etc., etc.
This DAW REMOTE function is setup in Cubase by going to STUDIO > STUDIO SETUP... > Remote Devices > select or “+” (Add) the Yamaha MOXF6/MOXF8 and set the MIDI Ports for IN/OUT = “Yamaha MOXF6/MOXF8-2 (port2)”
To activate the MOXF as a Remote Control Surface make sure the [DAW REMOTE] button is active on the MOXF front panel.
MOXF6/ MOXF8 Extension - this installs the MOXF Recording Templates (when starting a “New Project” > select “Recording” > listed will be several Record Templates that automate setup when using the MOXF. Basically, these extensions “teach” Cubase, the names of the MOXF Ports and makes Routing easier.

Thank you Jason. It is the Windows 8.1 64 Bit version.
At least this will eliminate a possible problem.

Thank you for the extensive reply Bad Mister.
Amateurs are having always the problem to define the exact problem.:D
I am talking about this function:
... that allows you to control CUBASE operations... Start/Stop, Arm Tracks for Record, Solo/Mute Tracks, open and close various DAW screens, etc., etc.
Before I am asking again, I will read your infos at least 2 times and trying to understand.
Maybe I can solve this problem. If not, I will be back next week and asking again.
Stay healthy
Buel
I am talking about this function:
... that allows you to control CUBASE operations... Start/Stop, Arm Tracks for Record, Solo/Mute Tracks, open and close various DAW screens, etc., etc.
These basic functions can be handled easily by configuring Cubase’s MIDI Setup
In Cubase Pro 10
Go to STUDIO > STUDIO SETUP > MIDI > MIDI PORT SETUP... > in the column “In ‘All MIDI Inputs’” place an ‘x’ next to Yamaha MOXF6/MOXF8-1 (Port 1)
Find the “REMOTE DEVICES” folder on the left side... set the MIDI IN and MIDI OUT = Yamaha MOXF6/MOXF8-2 (Port 2)
Now when you active the DAW REMOTE button on the MOXF front panel, your MOXF functions written with the same background as the DAW REMOTE button will function, the transport will operate Cubase.
