I play in 2 cover bands and have spent a lot of time creating "Performances" (patches) for specific songs. How can I save JUST those performances to a flash drive, and not everything in the MOXF. My goal is to have them backed up in case I lose them in the MOXF so that I can just reload them. It would take forever to recreate all of them.
Performances always reference (“point to”) the Voice data that make it up. If your Performances are made up of PRESET Voices you can bulk dump individual Performances and faithfully restore them using MIDI bulk dumps. However, if your Performances reference any USER Voices, you will need to save an ALL data file .x6A which will back up both the User Voices and the Performances.
There are many ways to store and restore bulk data.
Each Performance can be exported as a MIDI bulk, by recalling the Performance, press [JOB], select BULK, press [ENTER].
If you have an iPad there is the Yamaha Performance Editor Essential app... which would let you recall your Performances and control them via unique XY Control... via Bluetooth
OK, sorry but I'm not grasping that at all. I have no idea how to Can I just stick a thumb drive in the USB port to save?
Can I get more info on "Each Performance can be exported as a MIDI bulk, by recalling the Performance, press [JOB], select BULK, press [ENTER]."
My performances are made up of a combination of User voices and Preset voices, with lots of tweaking to many of them to create the exact sound I want.

You will need to save everything.
