Strange issue with drum arpeggios triggered in User Performances

I am just getting around to adding looping drum arpeggios to some of my Performances and triggering them from certain keys. While I understand how to do this, I seem to always end up with the pattern starting with a loud cymbal crash, no matter what Drum kit I set one of the 4 Parts in the Performance to, what arpeggio I choose or what key I trigger from. I have tried looking at the settings in all of the Preset Performances that trigger drums, but nothing sticks out that would cause this.

Please help me figure out what may be happening, or if I should be using a different Mode to loop drums under a multi-Voice setup.

It's a feature!

Here's what's happening (and why). The MOXF Arpeggios when assigned to a drum kit can be given a region of keys that will make sound (Part Note Limit), a separate ARP Note Limit that determines which key range will start the ARP phrase, a Velocity Range that also determines what key-on velocities will trigger the ARP phrase. Among the special additions you can program Velocity Threshold - that determines if the Phrase includes an ACCENTED hit.

If you look in the DATA LIST (pdf) you will see a column next to the Listed Arpeggio phrases that indicates if there is a column that indicates if the Phrase you have selected has an ACCENT (for drums this includes a kick and crash when you strike the key exceeding the VEL THRESHOLD.

The Accent Velocity Threshold should be set so that only when you strike the key harder than the value you set will the "accent" occur.
You have the Accent Velocity Threshold set too low.

The Factory default is 64, try raising it to 124 or higher this way when you want to start a phrase or Section with an Accent, simply exceed the value you set. It is purposefully set to a value of 64 to "force" you to discover this feature.

If they set it to off, the designer's felt no one would ever discover this cool feature. If you have select a four Measure drum groove, there is nothing worse than a drummer hitting a crash every four bars when your using that four Measures to construct a sixteen Measure Section... so you can manually control (via velocity) exactly where the Kick/crash accents occur. Aldo great for quick stabs and punches - often drummers hit kick/crashes at certain timing intervals to give the music highlights. Set to the proper velocity for your playing style it is a very effective feature.

You can set it Off completely, if you desire no accents in your drum phrase.

Hope that helps.

Oh, press [ARP EDIT]
Select the Part with the Drum Kit
Press [F5] PLAY FX
"AccntVelTh" is found by paging to the right with the Right Cursor to the second Page in this area.
You'll see your setting of 64 meaning any time you exceed a Velocity of that value you get the Accent.

Adjust to your liking, the STORE your Performance.
