I have an MX61. I recently bought a Yamaha flash drive. It doesn't seem to work. I formatted it, saved the voices, loaded them, and nothing.
I purchased the Verbatim 2GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive - Cap-LESS & Universally Compatible - Blue - 97086. It was recommended by the Yamaha Twitter account.
It's not on the list, though.

I am thinking of buying a Kingston.

Suggestions?
Thanks

Hi Bruce,

I hope you got the flash drive problem solved. I have used lots of different brands of flash drives with my MX with no serious problems. If you haven't gotten it fixed here are some things to check: did you format the flash with the MX (lots of different formats kicking around like Fat32, exFat, NTFS)? Is the flash drive somehow write protected? Can you read it on a computer and are there any other files pre-installed on the flash: some flash drives come with pre-installed backup software or other files that could interfere with the drive working on the MX. You can delete them on a computer. (This was a problem as far back as the MO series in 2006: a pre-installed PC program on the flash was trying to autorun on the synth!).
