Hello All,
I purchased a new MX49BK yesterday (08/15/2017) - which is sold as MX49BK V2.
I looked at JOB VERSION: it said Boot 1.01, Firm: 1.00 / (C) 2016 Yamaha Corp...
Does this confirm it is V2 or still older version V1? or Do I need to download and
install/update-to new version somehow?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've just bought an MX49WH and it's definitely V2 because they didn't make the V1 in white. It displays the same version information as yours.
I think there are two ways to tell if you've got a V2:
1. It should say "MIDI Class Compliant" in the features list on the box (that was one of the things they upgraded).
2. The LCD display should be black text on a white background. I believe the V1 was white on blue.

For me is the same question... I bought my MX49BK few months ago. On display show: boot: 1.01, Firm: 1.00
Is there any new firmware to update? Current download are dated on 2013-10-22 but is vers. 1.01
Is there any solution?

The second version of the MX: that is the MX49/MX61 BK/BU/WH (2016) are at firmware version 1.00
If your MX is Blue or White, it is the second version. The way to differentiate the original black MX49 from a new MX49BK, You will have orange letters "MX" on the version 2.
It will be dated 2016, and it will unlock the free FM ESSENTIAL App. Additionally it is fully audio compliant with iDevices.
