my son wants to know how to use mx 88 with iPad? We have studio speakers.Do I need some type of interface to connect the synth to the iPad ?
Any particular cables?
Can anyone recommend the best way to utilize iPad/garage band with mx 88 so I know what will work and what to purchase?
thank you
The MX88 is iOS compatible... this means that all you need to connect it is a USB cable (the kind you used to connect your printer to the computer with) and an Apple “LUCA” (Lightning to USB Camera Adapter) that connects your USB cable to the iPad. No external interface is necessary, it is already built-in to the MX88.
You simply connect the iPad to the MX88’s “TO HOST” port, and the Main L&R Outputs of the MX88 to your studio monitors, both the sounds of the iPad and the MX88 will be routed to your speakers.
Hopefully, you’ve downloaded the FREE Yamaha “FM ESSENTIAL” app, that when connected to your MX88 creates a music system ... adding a classic programmable FM synthesizer with sounds made to layer with your MX88.
Please see the following promotion: FM to GO great way to test out connectivity between your MX88 and your iPad... if you have other questions post back here.
You also received an ACCESS CODE which entitles you to a free a copy of Cubase AI, Music Production software that can run on either a Windows computer or Macintosh.
