Hey all! I purchased a Yamaha MX 61 Version 2 (Blue) this week! I wanted to hook up the keyboard to my laptop-Apple Macbook Pro via USB and use it as an audio interface for softwares like Mainstage 3 and Ableton Live 9! I downloaded the latest driver (1.9.10-2) and remote tools from the website. But after hooking up i cant see the device in the audio setup or audio-MIDI setup of my system. Nor can i find it in the audio preferences of the DAW! The current OS I use is High Sierra and have also tried on my iMac which is Sierra. I also changed the USB cable. Still no luck. MIDI data isn't detecting too, when its hooked up by USB! I checked the MIDI tab of the keyboard in utility and its in the USB mode. When hooked up to my windows laptop it pops up a warning stating 'driver not found'. What is the exact issue and how do i overcome it?
1.The keyboard is working fine.
2. The USB is getting detected in the my macbook system report as 'unknown source' and windows os shows 'driver not found', that means the USB in the keyboard must be working fine.
3. Have downloaded and installed the latest drivers.
4. Nor the audio interface nor the midi data is being transmitted to the system.
Please help me out! Thank you.
Sorry you are having issues with the driver installation.
We moved your post to the MX FORUM as your issue is not a MONTAGE issue.
We can start the checklist here:
On your Mac open SYSTEM PREFERENCES > find the icon for the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver > double click it.
Let us know.
Hello Bad Mister! Thank you for thee response! The screenshot below is what I see when I double click on it.
In Ableton go to Preferences > Audio > Select the Yamaha MX49/MX61 as your Audio Interface.
I did! No luck with it! What could be the issue? Any guesses?
The following message was on the download page concerning those with Mac OS 10.13: (I'm not exactly sure what the issue is - I will attempt to find out more)...

I also tried with my 2017 iMac which is still on OS Sierra and its the same situation with the previous OS too! I Also tried with my windows laptop and in device manager, it shows an error stating, "Driver not found". I manually tried applying the driver on windows but no luck. I can't even get access to the dmg. file of the previous version of driver(1.9.9) to give a try! Is there an issue with my keyboard?
The 5 PIN MIDI out works when I connect it to my Persons audio interface but never works when I connect it directly to my PC via 5pin MIDI to USB interface! (even after changing the MIDI setting in the board). Is there an issue with my board?

It is not unusual for the Mac driver to be "not found" on a Windows computer! The Mac driver will only work on a Macintosh computer. The Windows driver is completely different.
