Hello..Anyone using the MX-49 notice that the L/R 1/4" analog outputs are noisy..? If so, is there a remedy for this..?..Thanks...
There is always a remedy. To start you will need to determine the reason you are experiencing “analog outputs are noisy” and most others do not experience this. All devices have some noise. The measurement of S/N (signal-to-noise) is a thing. It’s a ratio - a comparison of one thing to another. Measured in dB (deciBels) where the noise is assumed a value of “1”.
The object is to have the usable signal so much more robust that the noise level is ‘negligible’. All Outputs produce noise. What you plug the output into is actually responsible for allowing to capture enough of the useable signal so that the noise is negligible. Turning up whatever you are plugged into (mixer, amplifier, whatever) will ultimately reveal noise. However, by the time you hear the noise you should have more than enough signal to work with... We can systematically diagnose your issue by taking it a step at a time.
For this experiment we will assume there is nothing wrong with your particular instrument....
1) what are you connecting the audio Outputs of the MX to
2) what type of connectors or adapters are involved
3) are you also connected via USB to a computer/laptop/tablet etc.
Let us know. With proper gain staging and connection you should not be experiencing a noisy output.
1) what are you connecting the audio Outputs of the MX to..?
I'm connecting the outputs of the MX directly into the line inputs of the Clarett interface
2) what type of connectors or adapters are involved..?
No connectors or adapters, just Mogami 1/4" instrument cables
3) are you also connected via USB to a computer/laptop/tablet etc.?
USB connected from Clarett interface to PC
