Hi, I was wondering if it's possible to create a drum pattern on the MX-88, then have it play that pattern indefinitely while you play along with it. On some gigs I use a stand alone drum machine. I don't have songs programmed into the drum machine, for instance with intro patterns, verse patterns, fills, etc. I just create a simple 4 or 8 bar pattern and play along with it. Just wondering if that's possible with the MX-88 so I can leave my drum machine at home.
I forgot to include in my question, If it is possible to create drum patterns that will play indefinitely, would it be difficult to adjust the tempo and volume of just the drums while it's playing?
No, the MX88 does not have a sequencer (recorder)... you have 208 built-in Rhythm Patterns.
Suggestion:
the MX88 can stream stereo .wav files (44.1kHz, 16-bit), you can record your drum machine and create .wav file - transfer that to a USB stick, leave the drum machine home just take the USB stick.
See page 28 of the Owner's Manual "Playing back audio data of the USB Flash memory" there is a step-by-step of how to play the keyboard along with the audio data.
I'm sure I could find replacements in those 208 patterns that probably sound better than most of my patterns. Any weird custom patterns I'll record on the USB stick, Thank you
