Hi,
I have an MX88 with Cubase 9.5. I have installed the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver. In the tab "Yamaha MX Series" I can see only select a sample rate of 44.1 kHz. No more options. However, I need to work with a sample rate of 48kHz. How can I select a sample rate pf 48kHz (or more)?
Thank You.
J. Clayton
When using the MX88 as your audio interface it will operate at 44.1kHz. You should set the Cubase PROJECT sample rate to match that audio interface, otherwise you will receive a warning (the Project > Sample Rate will appear in a different color). A mismatch will cause the data to be played at an altered pitch... when played back through an audio interface that is 44.1kHz.
If you need to have that data at 48kHz, you can record at 44.1kHz, then convert the data to 48kHz
Go to PROJECT > POOL > select your audio file > select MEDIA > CONVERT FILE > Sample Rate
Of course, to playback a 48kHz File at proper speed/pitch you will need to playback through an audio interface that does 48KHz.
Hi,
thank you for your reply. I thought it was some problem with the driver installation.
Kind regards.
No, not the driver, the driver is capable of rates up to 192kHz, it’s the MX hardware audio interface that is fixed at 44.1kHz. The same driver is used by the MONTAGE where it is 32-in/6-out at 44.1 and 8-in/6-out at 192kHHz... the MX is 2-in/2-out at 44.1 kHz
Ah, ok. Thank you for the clarification.
