This site is very difficult to log into. Impossible at times despite numerous attempts, deleting cookies and trying to log in through the main Yamaha corporate site. I cannot login with the newest versions of Chrome or MS Edge, but I can login with an older version of MS Internet Explorer. Odd huh?
If you are having problems logging in, try IE.
From what I know, the administration of this site is being handled by a third party, not Yamaha. While I underatand cost-saving measures and out-sourced support, why a major internatational company like Yamaha would put up with this type of service is well beyond me.
It's so frustrating that I rarely visit the site anymore despite trying to learn about my new Montage.
From a technical standpoint, there are currently cross-site cookies cookies being set without the SameSite attribute, and the latest version of Chrome/Edge have probably started to block them as they have been warning about in the past. Since you need to allow cross-site cookies to login here, that results in you not being able to login.
That makes sense. So is there a way to adjust the settings in Chrome/Edge to take this into account or is it best just to continue to use IE?
I think this might be the setting in Chrome: chrome://flags/#same-site-by-default-cookies You can try turning it to Disabled and see what it does.
Do note that the reason Chrome is introducing this change is to make the web more secure, so you probably want to switch it back eventually.
