It's funny that it stills has that lame rotary master volume control. I will be replacing that with at least a cool looking knob.
Looks interesting. Appears to be more angled than the Montage. The screen looks at an angle as well.
I like the small screen above the 6 knobs. Now lets get those specs and better yet, lets hear it!
I understand where the modulation hold is coming from - but wonder how easy that (button) will be to use in practice.

Probably was placed at an efficient circuit board location however if I'm gripping the stick with my thumb and index finger then I can use my ring finger to select that button. You probably have an option to toggle using a foot controller as well.
I guess these are "KNOB ASSIGN" and "SLIDER ASSIGN" functions.
These are "ROTARY UP/ASSIGNABLE" and "MODULATION HOLD".

The rotary switch makes me think there's not a mod "flick" gesture like other keyboards that have a joystick and have to deal with the reality of a spring-loaded mod. This joystick doesn't need to be spring loaded in both axis although, without additional info, am currently assuming it is spring loaded (return to center) for XY.
I think that's "Rotary SP" - as in speed - not "Rotary UP"

Hmm! Looks a bit like a cantilever arm to the left of the screen for tilting, but if it doesn't tilt I hope there's built-in compatability with an external monitor. It's basically a Tyros. Sequencer? Only one Recorder? Still multi-mode? Still just the one accessible USB port in front. All depends on what it sounds like - Tyros already has a better finished sound set than the Montage (deliberately so because if its primary function) so it'll be interesting to hear what they've done. Oh, and Yamaha - this 'teaser' system of launching serves only to infuriate me - I will never 'pre-order' anything myself - but it did enable me to pick up a Montage 7 cheap when a 'pre-ordered' one was cancelled when push came to shove.
You can do the geometry in your mind on this screen angle. It appears to be fixed but there should certainly be a direct monitor out or function similar to Montage for a remote touch screen.

Yamaha still haven't put the rear panel decals on the top surface so they can be read from the top. The market for arranger keyboards is the home player and the keyboard is invariably pushed against a wall which makes it difficult to find where the connections go without referring to the manual and locating them by feel.
That, no tilting screen and a touch screen means I will never buy one. My Tyros 5 and 3 will see me out.
Genos makes the cover.
