Foot Controller problem

I have a problem with a FC7 foot controller and the Super Knob. It works perfectly ok with a performance but after changing the performance (using inc/dec) the pedal often doesn't do anything unless I 'rev' it a few times which is frustrating. Does anyone else have this problem or is it normal. The FC7 is currently plugged into foot controller socket No 2 on the Montage.

This is a feature. The internal setting of the superknob will default to one value when you switch performances while your foot controller will be at a different value. The same methodology is followed for sliders whereby you have to "hook" or "catch" or "grab" the current value with the controller before changes are made. So for sliders and expression pedal alike - you would need to "sweep" between the extremes to ensure you "hook"/"catch"/"grab" the current value.

There have been requests to selectively enable a more immediate mode which forces the settings to snap to the physical controllers - no matter where defaults may be for a given performance. I do not believe such an option is available.

Current Yamaha Synthesizers: Montage Classic 7, Motif XF6, S90XS, MO6, EX5R

This is normal behavior. I've learned to develop a technique using my toe to step on the heel portion of the pedal to "reset" it for those Performances that store Super Knob value as zero.

Because you need to "hook" the stored value, the pedal must be manually moved to wherever that stored value happens to be, whether that is minimum, maximum, center or somewhere in-between.

In creating your own versions of the Factory data, feel free to reprogram the starting point of the Super Knob to your liking. That is what the User Bank and Libraries are for!

Thank you for the replies, at least I know that there isn't a fault.
