Hi Reface owners,
Soundmondo is a great website for Reface DX/CS/YC/CP owners, where you can download, manage, edit, and share thousands of great patches, created by many users.
But to get access to all this you have to connect your Reface to a computer, use a Google Chrome or Opera web browser, and create a personal account on the Soundmondo website.
If you haven't used Soundmondo yet, I can highly recommend it.
But I have been searching for an alternative way to download the patchdata from Soundmondo, convert them to clean SysEx (*.syx) patches, and store them on my local harddisk. Following another thread in this forum I managed to develop a Python script that can do this trick for me.
I will not bother you with the technical details, but the results of my efforts are now available for download HERE 😀
Have fun,
MT
Update: It discovered that not all data from Soundmondo are perfectly clean. There is a lot of doubled data inside some of the patches. Maybe communication problems in the WebMIDI protocol?
The files, converted to SysEx. on my website have been "cleaned" and now show consistent, often smaller, file sizes.
Go 'n get 'm 😀
Martin,
Thank you for providing this and your other conversion effort for the dx. I sent you a donation. Keep up the effort. Yamaha should provide this In addition to Soundmondo.

That is not true, just as a point of order, you do not "have to connect your reface to a computer", nor do you have to use Google Chrome to enjoy the Yamaha reface community and over 10,000 free sounds on Soundmondo.
You can access Soundmondo with a computer and Google Chrome, but they are not the only methods.
I can access Soundmondo from my smartphone almost anywhere I happen to be via the "reface Soundmondo" App

True, if you have an iPhone or iPad. I don't have one.
My service is also meant for people who, in addition to Soundmondo, just want to download all those free patches and have them all available offline also.
Hi Martin, thanks a lot for all your work! I bought a CS some weeks ago and it's very anoying, for LIVE events, not to have PRESETS offline.
I guess with your method, I can use that presets offline....right?
One question from one guy who know nothing about MIDI: how can I transfer/load thoses "sys" files into my CS? Is there any special SW to do it? Where can I find information about it?
Thanks in advance for your help
I will answer myself: I used "sysexbox" and it worked
Thanks for your work!
