Dear Yamaha
I watched with interest your Reface presentation last evening, the 4 keyboards are all very interesting, however in my opinion they are way over priced, I expected these to be around £200 to £250 considering the limited features and toy like design. To price these at £347 GBP is ludicrous, consider other synths that are in that price range, BaseStation 2, MicroKorg, XL, Arturia Microbute, these synth are much more powerful than what you are offering, so I don't personally see the benefit of buying any of the Reface synths. I'll wait until the music shops start discounting these to a more sensible price, but for now I'll pass.
Be careful what you say to Yamaha- they don't like it when you disagree with them. They will attack your musical knowledge. The emperor is not wearing any clothes.....
I've supported Yamaha for many years, my first synths being a DX27 and DX9, I've also owned CS1x amongst others, at the moment I have a MOXF and like it very much, but I dislike companies who take the proverbial with such ridiculous pricing.
Thank you for your thoughts, Jeremy. We certainly make keyboards in all price ranges to accommodate a wide variety of users. If these are not your cup of tea or are outside your price range, that is a fair enough statement. Sounds like price is the only issue you have... That's okay. Eventually, they maybe available at price more to your liking... Thanks for sharing.
They are certainly not out of my price range, I was making a statement of fact that there are much better alternatives with regards to features and value for money at this price point.
I was just offering my opinion as a keyboard player and buyer that the features of the Reface synths don't warrant the price Yamaha are asking!
Having been in music retail I believe music store will have trouble shifting stock at those price points, you've got to be a brave buyer to commit to purchasing the units to sell at those street prices.
Just my 2cents
Good Luck
