Reface CP - mystery CC parameters

Has anybody else tried tweaking CC64, 66 and 67 on the CP? If so, what do you think they're adjusting? They are mentioned in the data manual as messages that the CP receives, but no mention of what they actually are, or do. They seem to be damping controls of some kind. Can anyone from Yamaha give an 'official' answer? And I'd love to know what the 'default' value is for each one.

Also, while on the subject of control changes, what exactly is CC11 'Expression'? It seems to be a combination of volume and 'hardness', or something along those lines.

For clarity, I play my Reface CP using a controller keyboard, and adjust all the parameters using a Novation Remote SL. It works very well; I'm just curious about those CCs.

Thanks.

Sorry, I've just found it:

11 - Expression (0-127)
64 - Sustain (0-127)
66 - Sostenuto (0-63 off; 64-127 on)
67 - Soft pedal (0-63 off; 64-127 on)

These are all standard MIDI Control Change (cc) commands.

The Soft Pedal parameter is an interesting one; with it activated (I'm not sure if that is actually on or off!), and with Expression (and Volume) at the maximum, it distorts the sound. Is this normal?

I'm listening through studio monitors, and good headphones, etc.

Thanks

Is anybody else able to replicate this?

1. Reface CP, connected to midi controller.
2. Speakers off. Use quality headphones or sound system.
3. Select Rhodes I
4. Switch all effects off. Drive off. Reverb off.
5. Through midi, adjust the following: Volume (CC7) to 127 // Expression (CC11) to 127 // Soft pedal (CC67) to Off
6. Set your controller keyboard to a fixed velocity setting of 127, and play a note.

Does the sound distort?

Thanks
