Reface CS has no Program Change button. I've tried all non-fader controls as well as power off, power on. Is there any other way to make it send a SysEx dump to e.g. MIDI-OX?
I've tried the Android apps MIDI Commander and Syx-Lib, but they only send. An Android app that does this would be OK.
Send it a Bulk Request:
F0 43 20 7F 1C 03 0E 0F 00 F7
Yes, on Windows MIDI-OX with the bulk request message Bad Mister gives is the way to go.
Or use a similar, simpler, but non-free program like Bome Send SX
I want to send an e-mail to the developer of Syx-Lib to ask for support for bulk request messages. I would love a better solution also for my portable Android devices. Syx-Lib is nice and simple, but limited in the current state. Dump request functionality would make it perfect for my needs.
Yes, poorly phrased by me, and I didn't check into the forum to see the replies.
Question should read: I save my patches with MIDI-OX using the Dump Request, is there an Android App that does the same or is there a button on the CS that dumps?
Cos the Android apps only send OR receive, not both. And Yamaha hasn't made an app for Android. And I don't want to rely on a website to load or save a sound, and it's sometimes really slow.
Your question was already clear. Unfortunately the perfect SysEx IN+OUT app for Android doesn't exist or I don' t know it.
What I currently do is: use my computer to fetch the SysEx data from my Reface (I have the DX). Then copy the *.syx files to my Android Phone. Then use Midi Commander Android app to send SyseEx dumps to my Reface if I am "on the road". Awkward.
Maybe if we all put a feature request in the reviews of the existing apps the developers will be inspired to do some additional programming to make bi-directional SysEx with one App possible. Can't be extremely difficult I would guess.
If I only had the time to dive into the world of Java and C++ coding and Android App development I would create a proper SysEx dump utility for Android myself.
Is any Java/Android programmer reading this and want to make us Android users happy with a better tool, please?
I have sent a direct e-mail with a feature request to the developers of these Android apps.
Let's see if and how they will respond.
