Reface DX - undesired factory reset

My Reface DX had been turned off for two weeks until yesterday and it lost all custom patches I had made without any apparent reason (it seems a complete factory restore).
I'm sure I haven't pressed any key when turning it on (as I'm aware the last C key is the factory reset), nor used the factory reset by using the displayed function.
Without backup (I have no iPhones, iPads, etc..), this may be a serious issue (anyway, hope it was just a single unfortunate case).
My questions:
- Are patches stored to a 'flash memory' (so no need, for instance, to keep batteries inserted as long power backup)?
- Am I the only one who faced this problem (undesired factory reset)?

I just got my Reface DX and haven't seen this happen yet. But it does sound like a problem if that can happen.

To prevent hard work getting lost - if you (like me) don't own an iPad or iPhone - you can use a universal SysEx dump utility like MIDI-OX (Windows).

The Reface DX doesn't have a menu or button from where you can send MIDI sysex dumps (at least I haven't found it yet) but you can ask it to send a SysEx dump of the current patch using this SysEx dump request:

F0 43 20 7F 1C 05 0E 0F 00 F7

The Reface DX will react by sending a 241 bytes SysEx dump that you can save on disk using MIDI-OX.

Hello,
I have the same problem. All custom patches are lost, and back to factory preset.
It happened twice to me.
I'm sure not to have touched any button.
That's bad.

Just FYI, from the reface Owner's Manual concerning the reface DX:
"It should also be noted that stored data may be lost in the event of malfunction, incorrect operation and the like."

If you believe your unit is experiencing issues and it is not something you did, please contact Customer Support. It is a good practice to backup your reface DX programs - this way a crash (even if not your fault) is easily to recover from.
