New YC owner here. I hear an objectionable distortion with each virtual rotation. It’s most noticeble in H mode, 8’ drawbar out, Octave 0, Rotary=Slow, and everything else off. Play a chord near the low end of the keyboard, and it sounds awful. It’s noticeable in both speakers, but particularly in the right one. When headphones are used, or an external sound system, it sounds fine. No local dealers carry them, so I can’t compare, but a friend says his does something similar, but he doesn’t care because he doesn’t use it stand-alone. I contacted Yamaha, and they said it’s not normal, but it’s a hassle to return, possibly to find the replacement sounds the same. Can someone try these settings and let me know if they hear what I do? Many thanks!
