I'm playing a sweep synth pad and need to trigger a massive kick drum at various points during the piece. I can put the kick into a performance and use velocity to sound that voice when I need it, but I'd like it to be the same kick, no matter which key triggers it, i.e. every note on the keyboard sounds C#1 for that particular voice.
Any way to make all the keys trigger the same note/pitch? Failing that, any way to make one of the AF buttons sound that note for me or is there another method that might get me what I'm looking for?

Yes, you can fix the frequency of any sound across the keyboard. Actually, you simply have to undo the special effort it takes to make each chromatically higher or lower key 1/12 of an octave distant from its neighbor (that's the real trick) 😉
You can take a normal Voice place the Kick drum you want on middle C, then set the tuning so all notes stay at that key's pitch.
Open the S90 XS/S70 XS EDITOR Standalone
(If you need help setting up the Editor, please let us know)
Set it to VOICE mode and bring it "Online"
Click on "Edit" on the menu bar
Select "Initialize Current Voice"
INIT everything
Click on the arrow to pullover (center near the top) the main Editor screen
At the top click on the default Waveform name ("CF3 Stretch St" piano) and search for the Drum folder (last one)
Select the Kick drum that you wish to use (yellow arrow below)
Set the Key Follow (normally 100% for Equal Temperament tuning) to 0% (circled in yellow)
This fixes the Pitch across the keyboard.
Name and Store the Voice.

That is so cool - worked like a charm! I've never experimented with the key follow parameters but now that I have an idea what pitch key follow does, I'll have to get more familiar with it.

Try setting Pitch Key Follow to -100% for a Piano sound... Store it. Keep it ready for those pesky folks who always want to sit-in on your gig. This places the lowest notes on you right, highest on your left!
