Hi,
I wonder if I can load motif xs rack sound bank into my S70xs as they have very similar architech?
I'm planning to by motif xs rack Patchman Soundbank to use with breath controller but when I check with Matt he said it wouldn't be compatible? I mean I can end up buying the rack version just for this purpose but before doing that I just need to verify if I can actually load the sound bank to my s70xs and save the money?

I'm not at all sure in what format Matt is making the data available for the Motif-Rack XS, but if they are in .X1E file format, which is a Motif-Rack XS EDITOR file format, that can be loaded to your S70 XS.
This EDITOR file format will give you Voice compatibility with Rack XS data. So you want to find out:
1) What file format (extension) the Patchman data is provided in
2) Does it require more than just Voice compatibility to work.
If they are in a sysex format or in .mid (bulk) then, unfortunately, they can only be loaded to the product that created it (shares the same product ID). This may indeed be the case. Matt is very knowledgeable about Yamaha products, and if he says they are not compatible, you can trust him.
That said, if the data is loaded to a Motif-Rack XS, then connected to the (free) Motif-Rack XS Editor, then you could have the Editor create that the .X1E file ... This would add S90 XS/S70 XS compatibility (suggest that to Matt, can't hurt) tell him I said hi!
