I need help please. The message "searching for the firmware updater" appears on the screen in my S70XS. I downloaded firmware 1.06 from the Yamaha page and tried to load via flash drive in the S70XS but it appears in the "Can not downgrade to this version" screen. Has anyone ever experienced the same thing or something similar? Would you know how to fix it? Is there any combination of buttons or some way to exit the update firmware mode? I need help, urgently. Thank you very much and greetings!
What firmware version is currently in your S70 XS?
The last published firmware update was 1.06.x as of 2011
If you have purchased your S70 XS since that time you may have a slightly later version... a message saying you cannot downgrade would lead one to believe you have a later version that the one you’ve download from the website.
If it does not find the updater, you can power down, then reboot normally.
I have the same problem with my S-70xs..
I lost power and when i turned it on again it asked for firmware update..
But the problem is i have the newest update in the synth, and it write i cant downgrade..
What can i do to make it work again ?
Is it possible to make a factory reset were i can push some buttons and turn it on because i cant do it on normal way ?
Or is it possible i can fix if i remove the battery ?
Hope someone can help me ☀️☀️

I am not aware of this message. I highly recommend you either call Yamaha Service, or get in touch with an authorized service center.
The Factory Set is described in the S90 XS/S70 XS Owner’s Manual page 18
Great!
Please help us all learn about this and explain the process you used to determine those exact values. That would be much appreciated. wordle website
